2008 Show Season

We  started our 2008 show season in April.

KENTUCKY: Mellow Country Star, Classic Mellow and Lady Ann Mellow headed out to Kentucky to begin the season. We went there to get points and we did.  Kaitlyn was also the high point youth for the special event day.

Pittsford NY: The following week we took the same 3 horses to the AQHA show in Pittsford NY where Mellow Country Star won more points and is now qualified for the 2008 AQHA World Show in Sr working hunter.  Classic Mellow won more points and money in the Hunter Stakes class. Kaitlyn was the youth All Around Champion for the first show under both judges. She was the Youth Champion for the show and won a beautiful cooler.    Heza Hot Chocolate also went to the Pittsford show. He is a 3 year old AQHA gelding and it was his first show. He is owned and shown by Steve Weltsek and placed 4th in the Select Showmanship class out of 8 entries. He will be shown under saddle later in the year.

HITS Saugerties NY  Despite the cold and the dampness, we all had fun at Saugerties. What a super facility.  Mellow Country Star finished up his points and is now qualified in Sr Hunter Hack for the 2008 World Show. He will now stay home on vacation for a bit. Lady Ann Mellow was reserve high point youth at the show and she is collecting points now for her 2009 Youth Worlds. Heza Hot Chocolate worked on his showmanship classes with Steve.  Dee Dee competed in her first class ever with Lady Ann Mellow. She entered in the Select Showmanship and did a nice job. Will we see her out there again soon?  It was great to see Andrea at the show who came up to visit us. Andrea owns Mellow D N Lyrics  and rode with Woodland Star when we were in Connecticut. She came to see the "Mellow" kids at Saugerties. We all thank her for her support and friendship!

We will be adding more horses to our show line up for the next few shows. Scotch Bar Time is the next one to venture out!
